Sensory Friendly Kid’s Village Returns to Beignet Fest
New Orleans, LA (August 1, 2018) – The 3rd Annual Beignet Fest will once again feature a Kid’s Village with sensory friendly activities and fun for all young attendees Saturday, October 6, 2018 from 10AM – 6PM at the Festival Grounds at City Park. Ochsner Hospital for Children will sponsor the Kid’s Village for the third year in a row.
“We’re thankful to be able to partner with Ochsner Hospital for Children again,” said Festival Founder and Event Producer Sherwood Collins. “The Kid’s Village is an essential part of what our Foundation is about, and with the help of Ochsner, we’re able to really bring something spectacular to fruition.”
This year’s Kid’s Village is open to children of all abilities and will offer sensory friendly activities for those with developmental differences. Ochner’s staff will be on hand to offer assistance, as needed. Younger revelers will be able to do art and crafts projects, play games like corn hole and giant Jenga, and utilize play equipment at the park.
“The Ochsner Hospital for Children team is passionate about Beignet Fest and the Kid’s Village,” said Vice President of Pediatrics at Ochsner Health System Thomas Harris. “Caring for children and families is so important to us, as demonstrated through our ongoing outreach programs and the upcoming opening of the Michael R. Boh Center for Child Development. We’re proud to partner with an event that not only provides an opportunity for all children to celebrate but supports critically important causes throughout the city.”
Proceeds from Beignet Fest benefit the Tres Doux Foundation with a mission to celebrate, embrace and enhance the lives of children with developmental delays and disabilities by presenting them as whole beings, and to support organizations that do the same.
